Jacob's 3rd post

Since I forgot some stuff, I'll just tell you what I remember in the best order I can get them. One week ago from today, (Note: I'm making this on 1-11-12) we went to the natural history museum in the blue zone. (it was divided into a few zones by colors) Right in front of it was.......... a carousel? Why would anyone put a carousel in front of a museum? Anyway, once we got inside, we saw a huge dinosaur sculpture of a Diplodocus (that's a dinosaur that Allison did research on) nicknamed Dippy. If you paid a few pounds, ( that's the British currency) you could make it light up or roar.  That's Dippy below

Anyway, right next to that, there was the dinosaur exhibit, the start of the blue zone. We first saw the main part of the exhibit on a bridge to get to the animatronic T-Rex. Next we saw the animatronic T-Rex. Zeke got scared, so he and Dad left to exit to the main exhibit while we saw the T-Rex. The T-Rex moved around making grunting noises, but when it "saw" someone, it roars. It was actually kind of creepy. Then we saw the rest of the exhibit. After that, we saw the mammals exhibit. They had these sculptures of different mammals. My favorites were the bat eared fox, the weasel, and the sloth. Then we saw the blue whale mammals exhibit, which is like the mammals exhibit, except there are more facts about the animals and there's a life size blue whale sculpture hanging over the exhibit.

On Sunday, we had a coach tour of London. We saw lots of stuff, from Big Ben to Harrods. (ok, we just saw the tower not the actual bell) [when they say Big Ben they're referring to the bell, not the clock tower.]

On Monday, We saw Harrods. It's so cool. We even saw an old video game arcade style system. They say you can buy anything there, from a pin to an elephant. (that is, if you don't mind buying really over priced stuff) Believe it or not, someone actually came in with LOTS of money, and came out with a lot less money and an elephant.
Yesterday, we went to the British museum. My favorite artifact in the British museum is the Rosetta Stone, because I had heard of it before, but it was cooler than I thought. The Rosetta Stone has a message on it written in 3 languages and those languages are hieroglyphics, Demotic, and ancient Greek. When the Egyptians became Christians, the Rosetta Stone was lost for a long time until Napoleon and his army rediscovered the Rosetta Stone in Rosetta. After that, we had another homeschooling session. Here it is.

Today, we don't have that much planned.  We had another homeschooling session, and we're going to a park later today. So that's it for this post. See you next time.
